TGL championship recap: LAGC secures a 6-5 victory over Jupiter Links in opening match

Jupiter Links Golf Club faced off against Los Angeles Golf Club in the opening match of the TGL Championship at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Monday evening. The second match is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET, with a potential third match to follow that same night at 9 p.m.
Los Angeles executed a late comeback in a closely fought contest, defeating Jupiter Links 6-5. The outcome hinged on the final shot on the last hole for Jupiter Links. Kisner fell just short, allowing LAGC to take a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-three series.
Active players for Los Angeles included Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, and Sahith Theegala, while Collin Morikawa did not participate. For Jupiter Links, Tom Kim, Kevin Kisner, and Max Homa took part, with Tiger Woods not in action.

Kim puts Jupiter in front
After Jupiter Links leveled the match at 1-1 on Hole 6, Kim took charge for his team on No. 7. Kim converted a nearly eight-foot putt, while Fleetwood was unable to respond, missing from just over three feet, which gave Jupiter a 2-1 lead.

Rose ties the match
Jupiter’s advantage was short-lived, as Los Angeles equalized at 2-2 on the next hole. On his team’s third shot, Rose chipped in from 35 feet, while Homa missed from 13 feet, seven inches away.
Kisner celebrates after great shot
After losing back-to-back holes on Nos. 10 and 11, Kisner leveled the match on Hole 12 with an impressive tee shot that landed just over six feet from the pin. He marked the moment with some celebratory dance moves. What were the moves? Who knows.

LAGC wins on Hole 15
Trailing 5-4 with the match at stake, Los Angeles made a decisive move before Hole 15 to make it worth two points. For Los Angeles, Theegala completed the hole in four shots, leaving the match’s outcome in Kisner’s hands on his fourth shot from nearly 22 feet away.
Kisner nearly succeeded with the chip shot, as the ball came to a stop just six inches from the hole.
