CHOMUTOV, Czechia – The U.S. Under-17 Men’s Select Team overcame a 3-0 deficit to triumph over Czechia in a shootout, 5-4, during the championship match of the 2026 Under-17 Four Nations Tournament held today at Rocknet Arena.
Team USA secured its 10th championship title in the history of the Under-17 Four Nations Tournament and its third since 2021. The U.S. concluded the tournament with an unbeaten record of 1-3-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L), which featured two victories in shootouts.
“This team is resilient; they maintained their effort throughout the game. I am very proud of them,” stated Guy Gosselin (Grafton, Wis.), head coach of the U.S. Under-17 Men’s Select Team. “They faced adversity, never lost hope, and succeeded in the end.”
Tomáš Albrecht initiated the scoring for Czechia at 4:47 of the first period, netting a goal from the bottom of the left faceoff circle after a U.S. defender blocked an initial shot from the point.
Czechia extended its lead at 6:24, as Marek DomkáΕ capitalized on a rebound opportunity following a shot from OndΕej Jonák.

Marek SedláΔek increased Czechia’s lead to 3-0 at 11:23, firing a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle that went over the glove of U.S. goaltender Chase Pastor (Burlington Township, N.J.).
The U.S. answered back at 12:50, as Jack Riehl (Mars, Pa.) redirected a rebound from a shot by Nikolai Zhukov (Proctor, Minn.) into the net, narrowing the Czech lead to 3-1.
Parker Colmer (Olathe, Kan.) reduced the U.S. deficit to one at 16:33, scoring on a pass that was deflected by a Czech defender into the goal.
Benjamin Slavick (Westland, Mich.) leveled the score at 13:06 of the second period, following up on his own rebound to beat Czech goaltender Tobiáš OΕechovský over the glove.
Czechia responded at 16:25, as Jakub Jíra tapped in a rebound in the U.S. crease to regain a 4-3 lead.
Soren Saumweber (Roseville, Minn.) netted the equalizer for the U.S. at 6:13 of the third period, backhanding a shot from just outside the crease past OΕechovský to tie the game at 4-4.
Neither team was able to secure the winning goal in the remaining time of the third period or during the five-minute overtime, leading to a shootout. Pastor concluded the game with 35 saves.
Aiden Kelly (Rochester, Mich.), Dylan Delgado (Weston, Fla.), and Levi Ellingsen (Pasco, Wash.) successfully converted three consecutive shootout attempts, while Pastor denied all three attempts he faced, propelling the U.S. to the Under-17 Four Nations Tournament championship.
