Justin Thomas aims for comeback during Florida tournament series.

World No. 9 Justin Thomas announced on Thursday that he aims to return from back surgery during the PGA Tour’s Florida swing.
Thomas has been sidelined since he underwent a microdiscectomy in mid-November, explaining that “some persistent hip pain for several months” prompted him to get an MRI, which uncovered a “disc issue that required treatment.”
In a social media update on Thursday, Thomas shared that his recovery has progressed “very well” and that he is currently “hitting wedges/short irons.”
“I plan to return to competitive play at some point during the Florida swing,” he stated. “I understand the significance of overcoming this injury so that I can focus on the remainder of the season.”
10 weeks post surgery today… feeling good! Recovery has gone well. I’m slowly building back my strength and conditioning in the gym, and also hitting wedges/short irons. Little victories and patience have been the biggest part of the process. Taking it slow and listening to how… pic.twitter.com/vVmPvGUpsk

The Florida swing kicks off with the Cognizant Classic from Feb. 26-March 1, followed by three consecutive weeks of tournaments in the state, culminating in the Players Championship from March 12-15.
This timeline would also position Thomas to participate in the season’s first major championship, the Masters, scheduled for April 9-12.
An 18-time PGA Tour champion, Thomas is coming off a successful 2025, where he secured the RBC Heritage and achieved top-10 finishes eight times overall.
