Justin Rose presented with ‘unique’ trophy discovered at friends’ auction

Justin Rose added another accolade to his collection last week while in England, this one stemming from a triumph 24 years ago that holds significant meaning for him.
Two acquaintances spotted the trophy from the 2002 Victor Chandler British Masters at auction and purchased it for Rose. He secured the win by defeating Ian Poulter by a single stroke, marking his third career victory. This event also marked the final year that Victor Chandler served as the title sponsor.
Rose mentioned that there were only four instances of that specific trophy, and he does not remember ever receiving a replica or giving it much consideration. However, it carried importance for a specific reason.
“I often refer to that victory as one of my most cherished wins,” Rose stated in an Instagram post. “It was the only win my late father Ken was able to attend and celebrate with me on that day, lifting this trophy.”

He shared an image of his father’s hand on the trophy and remarked, “Now I possess the tangible representation of that day.”
His father passed away from cancer three months later. Rose placed the trophy alongside one that his father won at the age of 17.
