Tammy Abraham joins Besiktas in an £11 million transfer amidst connections to Aston Villa.

Tammy Abraham has officially joined Besiktas, as announced by the Turkish club, prior to his anticipated transfer to Aston Villa.
Abraham, 28, had been on loan at Besiktas from Roma this season, with the agreement set to become permanent if specific criteria were satisfied.
The English striker, who has earned 11 caps for his national team, netted 13 goals in 26 appearances for Besiktas. He is reportedly on the verge of finalizing a transfer to Unai Emery’s Aston Villa in a deal valued at approximately £18 million ($25 million) in the upcoming days.
Abraham did not participate in Besiktas’ 2-2 draw against Eyupspor on Monday evening.
“The conditions in the transfer agreement of Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham have been met, and the clause for the player’s permanent transfer has been activated,” Besiktas stated in a release earlier on Monday.
“In this regard, a transfer fee of 13 million euros will be remitted to AS Roma.”
Abraham progressed through Chelsea’s academy but ultimately lost his place before moving to Roma in 2021. He recorded 39 goals in 120 matches for the Serie A club, securing the Conference League title under José Mourinho a year later.
After an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury hindered his development, he spent the previous season on loan at AC Milan, where he scored 10 goals in 44 matches.
His most recent appearance for England was in a goalless Nations League match against Italy in June 2022.
