Haas has revealed the Godzilla livery that it will utilize during this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix.

The American team’s vehicle will showcase the iconic movie creature on both engine covers at Suzuka as part of a season-long partnership with TOHO CO. Ltd, the studio that owns the Godzilla film franchise.

The design features the tagline “Godzilla takes the world’s fastest stage” beneath the dinosaur illustration. Haas officially presented the design at an event in Tokyo Midtown Hibiya on Tuesday.

The race in Japan has become somewhat of a secondary home event for Haas due to its technical collaboration with Toyota Gazoo Racing – the GR logo is also prominently displayed on the car.

Haas will conduct another promotional activity in the U.S. later this year, during the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin in October.

Since the giant monster’s first appearance in cinema in 1954, thirty-eight Godzilla films have been released, and the U.S. Grand Prix is scheduled to coincide with the premiere of the latest film, Godzilla Minus One, in American theaters.

In most versions of the narrative, Godzilla is depicted as a massive amphibious reptile awakened from the depths of Tokyo Bay by nuclear radiation.

While the creature is typically seen as a harbinger of destruction, it has also been characterized as an antihero who protects humanity.

More than 75 years after its cinematic introduction, Godzilla continues to enjoy popularity in Japan and has a vast array of merchandise.

A large roaring model of Godzilla, constructed on the side of a hotel in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, is one of the city’s most recognizable tourist attractions.

F1 teams have previously partnered with franchises to promote new film releases, including Red Bull with Star Wars in 2005 and Alpine with Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024.
