TGL recap: Jupiter Links secures surprising victory against Atlanta Drive

The 2025 TGL champion Atlanta Drive Golf Club returned to competition after a three-week hiatus, facing off against Jupiter Links Golf Club at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Jupiter Links triumphed over Atlanta with a score of 8-6, putting an end to a losing streak that dated back to January 2025.
Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Akshay Bhatia represented Jupiter Links, while Tiger Woods and Tom Kim were not in action. For Atlanta, Billy Horschel, Lucas Glover, and Chris Gotterup participated, as Justin Thomas was sidelined.

Not the ideal way to set a record
Chris Gotterup of Atlanta established the record for the longest drive in TGL history on the team’s opening shot of the evening. However, the 374-yard drive ended up in the bunker. Atlanta managed to navigate the challenging situation, winning Hole 1 and taking a 1-0 advantage.

Woods not pleased with team’s start
In an interview conducted between the first two holes, Tiger Woods expressed his thoughts on his team’s loss of the first hole of the match, stating that they had aimed to secure an early lead, “but so much for that idea.”

Jupiter Links wins three consecutive holes
Following a sluggish beginning, Jupiter Links gained momentum on Hole 3. The team leveled the match by scoring on Holes 3 and 4, and had the opportunity to take their first lead on Hole 5. Homa seized the moment, delivering a shot that left his team less than five feet from the pin. Jupiter Links won the hole, establishing a 3-2 lead. This marked the first instance of them winning three consecutive holes in team history.

Jupiter Links wins five straight
Jupiter Links continued their success after winning Holes 3, 4, and 5. The team extended their point streak to five consecutive holes, defeating Atlanta on Holes 6 and 7 as well, to take a 5-2 lead.
The rare double hammer
Jupiter Links applied pressure on Atlanta during Hole 9. After Atlanta executed the hammer earlier in the hole, Jupiter Links gained the upper hand as play progressed. The team then threw the hammer themselves, making the hole worth three points. Ultimately, neither side was able to take advantage, resulting in a tie for the hole.

Jupiter Links extends lead
Jupiter Links maintained their momentum in the singles segment of the match, achieving a six-point lead on Hole 12. In an effort to narrow the gap, Atlanta executed a hammer before the first shot. However, Horschel from Atlanta found himself in the bunker, and Jupiter Links capitalized on the opportunity to widen their lead.
