Tottenham informs police about ‘appalling’ racial abuse directed at Kevin Danso.

Tottenham has denounced the “vile, dehumanising racism” directed at defender Kevin Danso following the 2-2 draw with Brighton on Saturday.
Danso was responsible for Georginio Rutter’s equaliser in stoppage time, which left Spurs in the relegation zone.
The club has stated that they have reported the racist abuse directed at the Austrian centre-back on social media to law enforcement.
“Since yesterday’s match against Brighton, which occurred during the Premier League’s No Room For Racism weekend, Kevin Danso has been, and continues to be, subjected to significant and abhorrent racist abuse on social media,” Spurs mentioned in a club statement.
“We have witnessed and heard vile, dehumanising racism. Such behaviour is undoubtedly a criminal offence. It will not be tolerated.
“The club is taking prompt action. We are reporting all identified content to the Metropolitan Police and to the relevant authorities in the countries where the offenders reside, as well as to pertinent social media platforms.
– Spurs find silver lining vs. Brighton, but not a desperately needed win
“We will advocate for the strongest possible consequences against each individual we identify.
“Kevin has our full and unwavering support as both a player and a person. No one at this club will ever face this alone.
“Nothing regarding form or league standing can ever justify or rationalize racist abuse. There is no link between on-field performance and the right to target a player with discrimination. Criticism of performances is part of the game. Racism is not.”
