Real Madrid’s loaned player Endrick comments on his inaugural hat trick: ‘This is merely the start’

Endrick feels justified in his decision to transfer to Lyon after achieving the first hat trick of his career during the club’s 5-2 victory over Metz.
Opting to go on loan from Real Madrid midway through the season due to limited playing time, the Brazilian forward has now recorded four goals and an assist in just three matches for the French side.
“That was the first hat trick of my life, I’m very happy, truly,” Endrick, 19, remarked following Sunday’s match.
“It was an amazing game. I’ll keep the ball from that match at home. It’s a remarkable day in my life.”
When questioned about those who doubted his choice to leave Madrid and join Ligue 1 six months prior to the World Cup, he stated: “I think it’s been really great playing in this league [Ligue 1]. It’s strong and physical, with a lot of aggression. I appreciate that.
“It wasn’t a mistake [coming to Lyon]. Life is like that. My life has always been challenging; it’s never been simple. I remain resilient with the support I receive from those around me. This is just the beginning. People have always told me that Lyon is a great team and that I should come and play here, and the truth is that the team is indeed very good.”
Endrick made 22 LaLiga appearances during his inaugural season at Madrid, the club he joined in July 2024 from Palmeiras, but only featured three times in all competitions this season for Los Blancos.
He sought guidance from Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti before making the move to Lyon.
“Lyon is a wonderful place; I’m very fortunate and I feel really good here,” Endrick expressed.
“This hat trick is very significant to me; it aids the team in winning, and I’m truly satisfied. I can contribute to the team, and I feel like I belong. It’s as if God indicated that this was the right place for my career. Every day, every moment, I never could have envisioned it, and now it’s a reality.

“There’s a great rapport with my teammates, the fans, and the staff as well.
“We’re going to continue working even harder, and we’re already focused on the next match.”
Sunday’s victory marked Lyon’s eighth consecutive win across all competitions. Lyon currently sits fourth in Ligue 1, nine points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
