Bournemouth has announced that Marco Rose will take over as manager following the exit of Andoni Iraola at the conclusion of the season.

Iraola revealed last week that he would be departing the south coast this summer, and the club has promptly identified his successor as head coach on a three-year contract.

As reported by ESPN earlier this week, Rose was the club’s top choice and has now been appointed after reaching an agreement on personal terms.

Rose became available after his departure from RB Leipzig last year and has previously managed Bundesliga teams Borussia MΓΆnchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund.

Sources informed ESPN that Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna was also considered by Bournemouth, but it is Rose who has been selected by the club’s leadership and will commence his role following Iraola’s exit.

Why Iraola will be highly coveted in summer’s managerial merry-go-round

Earlier in his managerial career, Rose also served as head coach for the German club Lokomotive Leipzig and RB Salzburg in Austria.
