Leicester City has been relegated to League One from the Championship following a 2-2 draw against Hull City on Tuesday evening.

This marks the club’s second consecutive relegation, occurring a decade after their remarkable Premier League triumph, where they overcame odds of 5,000-1 to secure the title.

The draw with Hull on Tuesday left the team with 42 points after 44 matches, confirming their drop to League One, the third tier of English football, for the upcoming season.

Leicester followed their 2015-16 championship win with an FA Cup victory in 2021. The subsequent season, they also enjoyed a notable European campaign, reaching the semifinals of the UEFA Conference League.

In the 2022-2023 season, the club was relegated to the Championship but managed to return to the Premier League after the 2023-24 season.

However, their return to the top division in 2024-25 was challenging, leading to the dismissal of manager Steve Cooper after 12 matches. His successor, Ruud van Nistelrooy, was unable to secure their safety, resulting in another relegation for the Foxes.

Earlier this season, the club faced a six-point deduction for violating spending regulations.
