Harry Maguire poised to finalize new contract with Manchester United – sources

Manchester United is nearing a consensus with Harry Maguire regarding a new contract, according to sources from ESPN.
Maguire’s existing agreement is due to expire in June. Discussions between his agents and the club have been characterized as encouraging, with optimism from both parties that a resolution is imminent.
The defender’s forthcoming contract is expected to last for one year until 2027, with the possibility of an additional season that could extend his stay at Old Trafford until June 2028.
Maguire, who has attracted interest from other Premier League teams, is anticipated to be rewarded for his pivotal role in United’s resurgence under Michael Carrick.
The 33-year-old has started the last 10 matches and has regained his place in the England squad. He played the full 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Uruguay at Wembley on Friday.
Maguire will be unavailable for United’s upcoming match against Leeds United at Old Trafford on April 13 due to his red card received during the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
Carrick is optimistic about having Lisandro MartΓnez back in action following the international break to avoid the necessity of fielding young players Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven against Leeds. Matthijs de Ligt remains out with a back injury.

Sources have informed ESPN that United is also in discussions with Kobbie Mainoo regarding his long-term prospects.
The midfielder is contracted until 2027, with an option for an extra year, but talks are ongoing to reward the 20-year-old with a contract that reflects his significance as a key first-team player.
