Harry Kane’s injury status uncertain for Bayern Munich’s match against Real Madrid – Vincent Kompany

England captain Harry Kane is in a race against time to recover for Bayern Munich’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid due to an ankle injury sustained while on international duty.
The 32-year-old forward was absent from Tuesday night’s 1-0 friendly loss to Japan at Wembley after injuring his ankle during training, having already been rested for the 1-1 draw with Uruguay earlier in the camp.
Bayern manager Vincent Kompany has indicated that Kane will not be available for Saturday’s Bundesliga match against Freiburg, although he remains hopeful that Kane can travel to Spain.
Kompany stated at a news conference: “Harry trained well until Sunday, but then he felt something in his ankle while with the national team. This will affect tomorrow’s match — he won’t be available.
“However, I am optimistic about Tuesday. It’s unfortunate; I would prefer him to play against Freiburg, but as it stands today, that won’t be feasible.”
Kane’s 78 international goals make him an essential player for Thomas Tuchel’s squad, and England’s struggles in their last two matches underscore the significance of keeping him healthy and performing well ahead of this summer’s World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
This season, he has an impressive tally of 53 goals for both club and country in 45 appearances, and the German champions, who currently hold a nine-point lead over second-placed Borussia Dortmund, will be hoping for his swift recovery.
