Fulham to reconsider transfer of USMNT's Ricardo Pepi this summer - sources 1

Fulham is expected to rekindle their interest in United States men’s national team striker Ricardo Pepi during the summer transfer window after a potential transfer fell through this January, according to sources cited by ESPN.

Fulham and PSV were nearing an agreement on a fee around €37 million for the USMNT forward, but the transaction was dependent on PSV securing a replacement, as per sources. As the transfer deadline approached, PSV decided to terminate the deal due to their inability to identify a suitable alternative for Pepi.

The Premier League club has already signed Oscar Bobb during this window and was eager to bring in the young striker as well. Pepi, 23, has been in excellent form for PSV this season, netting eight goals in 15 Eredivisie appearances. He is regarded as a prime target to enhance Fulham’s attacking options, although he is currently sidelined with a broken forearm.

Sources indicate that Fulham is interested in pursuing another attempt to sign Pepi in the summer.

The 23-year-old started his professional journey at FC Dallas before moving to Augsburg and Groningen, eventually joining PSV, where he has scored 26 goals in 60 matches, in addition to 13 goals in 34 appearances for the USMNT.
