Chelsea’s Liam Rosenior: Estêvão emotional following serious injury sustained in match against Man United

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has disclosed that Estêvão was in tears at halftime after being substituted due to an injury early in his team’s loss to Manchester United on Sunday.
The Brazilian attacker was on the field for just 16 minutes before Rosenior had to replace him because of a hamstring issue, bringing on former United player Alejandro Garnacho in his place.
Estêvão’s fellow countryman Matheus Cunha scored the only goal of the match before halftime, allowing United to secure crucial three points in their pursuit of Champions League qualification at Stamford Bridge.
Following the match, Rosenior did not alleviate concerns regarding the seriousness of Estêvão’s injury.
“He was crying at halftime; it was truly heartbreaking for him,” he stated.
“It appears to be his hamstring, which occurred at a moment when he was sprinting towards their goal for a one-on-one opportunity — he pulled his hamstring at that instant. I hope Este returns sooner rather than later.”
Chelsea’s injury woes continued as midfielder Enzo Fernández, who had just rejoined the squad after a hiatus due to his remarks about a potential transfer to Real Madrid, was also forced off late in the match.

“I just saw him [Fernandez] in the dressing room — I believe it was his calf,” Rosenior added.
“I’m hoping it’s cramp; he’s receiving treatment right now because we want him, of course, fit for Tuesday [against Brighton and Hove Albion].
“He gave everything for the club tonight, and I expect nothing less from a player of his caliber and quality.”
