Carlo Ancelotti set to extend contract with Brazil, adjustments made to assistants’ pay.

Carlo Ancelotti is set to finalize a contract extension with Brazil’s Football Confederation, ensuring his role as head coach through the 2030 World Cup in the upcoming weeks.
In December, ESPN reported that the Italian coach had come to a verbal agreement regarding a new four-year contract.
This new agreement will not result in a salary increase for Ancelotti, who is already the highest-paid coach in the national team’s history, earning €10 million ($12 million) annually.
Nonetheless, the salaries of Ancelotti’s four coaching staff members will be adjusted.
An official announcement is anticipated before Ancelotti announces his squad on March 16 for the forthcoming international friendlies against France and Croatia in the United States.
Ancelotti, 66, conveyed to ESPN in September his intention to extend his contract until 2030. He assumed control of Brazil’s national team after departing from Real Madrid in May 2025.
His objective is to lead Brazil to their sixth World Cup title in 2026. Brazil has not won the World Cup since 2002, with their closest attempt being a fourth-place finish in 2014 when they hosted the tournament.
During Ancelotti’s tenure, Brazil has achieved four victories, two draws, and two losses in their eight matches. Ancelotti is currently in the process of finalizing his World Cup squad.
“In my first press conference, I stated that Brazil is fortunate to have many talented players,” Ancelotti recently remarked.
