Barcelona secures seventh consecutive Liga F championship, advancing their pursuit of a quadruple.

Barcelona clinched their seventh consecutive Liga F title on Wednesday, securing the championship with four matches remaining by defeating local rivals Espanyol 4-1 at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque.
Goals from Carla Julià Martínez, Caroline Graham Hansen, and a pair from young Norwegian forward Martine Fenger ensured the win for Barça, despite Espanyol briefly equalizing at 1-1 through Laia Ballesté’s penalty.
This victory brought Barça’s total to 75 points from 26 matches, placing them 16 points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, who can achieve a maximum of 74 points if they win their remaining five fixtures.
Barcelona has now been crowned Spanish champions a total of 10 times, which is double the number of titles won by any other club in the nation. Athletic Club follows in second place with five titles.
Throughout their title campaign, Barça has dropped points only once, experiencing an unexpected loss to Real Sociedad back in October.
Despite that defeat, their dominance over the other teams in the league has remained unquestioned, with crucial victories both at home and away in the Clásico against Madrid.
In recent years, Madrid seemed to be narrowing the gap with Barça, finishing eight points behind last season with only two losses, but they have not been able to replicate that level of consistency this season.
Having also secured the Spanish Supercopa in January, Barça now sets their sights on achieving a quadruple for the second time in their history, having first accomplished this feat in the 2023-24 season.
