Andy Robertson maintains unwavering commitment to Liverpool despite Tottenham speculation.

Andy Robertson has emphasized that he was “never not committed” to Liverpool, despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur in January, and stated that his contract situation will not be discussed publicly.
Liverpool engaged in discussions with Spurs in January after Robertson expressed interest in a transfer. The Scotland international has seen a reduction in his first-team appearances this season following the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth last summer; however, he ultimately chose to stay at Anfield due to a series of defensive injuries.
“There was certainly interest,” Robertson remarked. “Conversations took place between both clubs. But the choice was that I wanted to remain. We stayed at Liverpool, and that was the decision made.
“I was never not committed. I’ve been dedicated to Liverpool for the past eight and a half or nine years, and I will remain committed until I am no longer required. That has always been my perspective. This club has provided me with everything, and I have given everything back. It has been a wonderful relationship, and I hope that continues. January has passed, and now we look ahead.
“Now we progress, and as I mentioned, my focus never wavered from assisting the team on the pitch and in training. Whatever transpired behind the scenes occurred, and all I can say is that I continued to concentrate on football.”
Robertson’s contract expires in the summer, and he is unlikely to lack potential suitors should he leave as a free agent.
Regarding his future, the 31-year-old stated: “I’ve always maintained that this will remain between me and the club. I don’t believe it will be discussed publicly. It is not that kind of situation. I have a great relationship with Richard [Hughes], Mike Gordon, and Michael Edwards.
“I’ve enjoyed a positive rapport with these individuals, who were instrumental in bringing me to the club. They have contributed to my development, so in that regard, we have had an excellent relationship. I think out of respect for them, and because they have respected me, the discussions will be internal. When a decision is reached, and as I approach the final three months of my contract, it will be communicated to you all.”
Robertson was a key player for Liverpool as they advanced past Wolves in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Friday night. The Scotland international recorded both a goal and an assist at Molineux Stadium and believes Liverpool can still finish the season on a high note despite their uneven performance.

“My mindset is that I want to win trophies with Liverpool,” Robertson stated. “That has always been my priority. Each season, I aim to secure trophies, whether that be an FA Cup, the Carabao Cup, the Champions League, or the Premier League.
“I always strive to win trophies because the club expects it, and the fans demand it. That has never changed. Our collective focus is on making this season as successful as possible. It hasn’t unfolded as we wished in the league—that is evident. We are out of the Carabao Cup, so we have two opportunities left. If we deliver more performances like we did (on Friday), then we have a chance. If we perform like we did on Tuesday, then we have no chance. Therefore, we need to work on achieving that consistency.
“Hopefully, by the end of the season, we can all be smiling, and that is certainly what we are striving for.”
