Andoni Iraola set to depart Bournemouth following the conclusion of the season.

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is poised to depart the club at the conclusion of the season.
The 43-year-old Spaniard, who assumed his role at the Vitality Stadium in June 2023 following Gary O’Neil’s exit, led the Cherries to a ninth-place finish in the Premier League last season, achieving a new club-record points total.
With Iraola’s contract set to lapse in the summer, the club had been attempting to finalize terms on a new agreement, but has now reluctantly acknowledged his exit.
“AFC Bournemouth can confirm that head coach, Andoni Iraola, will leave the club at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, marking the end of his successful three-year period on the south coast,” a statement indicated.
Iraola has been rumored to be returning to his former club Athletic Bilbao as well as being a candidate for the Manchester United position.
The announcement of Iraola’s departure follows closely after a notable 2-1 victory against Premier League leaders Arsenal.
“It has been a privilege to manage Bournemouth, and I take pride in what we have accomplished together,” Iraola stated on the club’s website.
“I am grateful to the players and staff I have collaborated with, as well as [chairman] Bill [Foley], who have all contributed to making my time here so memorable.
“To the fans, your unwavering support for me and the team has been remarkable, and for that, I will always be thankful.
“I believe this is the appropriate time for me to step away, but I will always cherish the wonderful memories of this club.”
Foley remarked that Iraola has been pivotal in establishing a “clear philosophy” within the club, which returned to the Premier League under Scott Parker in 2022 after being relegated the previous season following five years in the top division.
“Andoni has played a crucial role in shaping the trajectory of this football club over the past three seasons,” Foley stated.
“He introduced intensity, innovation, and a distinct philosophy that advanced Bournemouth both on and off the field.
“We are immensely grateful for his leadership and will always hold fond memories of our time working together, along with the achievements we reached.”
Bournemouth confirmed that fitness coach Pablo de la Torre will also depart at the end of the season.
