Allan Saint-Maximin: Former Newcastle player departs Club America following claims of racial abuse directed at his children.

Allan Saint-Maximin, the former winger for Newcastle, has departed from Mexican club Club America by mutual agreement following his assertion that his children experienced racist harassment.
This week, the 28-year-old French player shared on social media that his family had been targeted.
Saint-Maximin, who has also represented Al-Ahli and Fenerbahce since his exit from St James’ Park in 2023, stated on Instagram: “The issue is not the color of your skin, it’s the color of your thoughts.”
“I can handle being attacked, that’s not a problem — I grew up and learned to combat such attacks … but one thing I will never accept is my children being bullied.”
“Safeguarding my children is my main concern, and I will strive to ensure they are treated with respect and love, irrespective of their background or skin color. Hate and discrimination have no place in our society.”
“To those who chose to target my children, I say: you made a mistake. I will always defend my own, and no individual or threat will intimidate me.”
Neither the player nor Club America provided further details regarding the incident.
Club America released a statement afterward, affirming: “We strongly condemn any act of discrimination and/or violence that undermines human dignity, both on and off the field.”
“We express our full support for Allan Saint-Maximin and his family, who have the backing of everyone associated with this institution.”
Coach Andre Jardine remarked on Saturday: “Concerning Maximin, he is an exceptional player, capable of competing in any league globally. We wish him all the best.”
