Mike Conley returns to Wolves two weeks following his trade.

Mike Conley is making his way back to the Minnesota Timberwolves two weeks after being traded in a deadline deal, as announced by the team on Tuesday.
The Wolves dealt Conley to the Chicago Bulls in a three-team trade to alleviate the remaining portion of the veteran point guard’s $10 million salary for the current season. The Bulls then transferred Conley to the Charlotte Hornets, who ultimately waived him.
Since he was traded a second time prior to being waived, Conley was eligible to re-sign with Minnesota. He will be earning the veteran minimum salary.
At 38 years old, Conley has provided a stabilizing influence at point guard over his 19 seasons in the NBA, although he has experienced a decline in performance in recent years. He started nine of the 44 games he played for the Timberwolves this season, averaging career lows of 4.4 points and 2.9 assists.
Nonetheless, Conley’s role in the Wolves’ locker room is appreciated by the organization, and franchise star Anthony Edwards was among those who advocated for his return to the team.
