U.S. National Sled Hockey Team Wins Para Hockey Cup Title With 2-0 Win Over Canada
DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Brett Bolton (Rockledge, Fla.) scored the game-winning goal and Jen Lee (Daly City, Calif..) recorded a shutout to help lift the U.S. National Sled Team to a 2-0 victory over Canada here tonight (Dec. 6) in the championship game of the 2025 Para Hockey Cup at Ovintiv Events Centre.
Team USA has now won an unprecedented 10-consecutive Para Hockey Cup championships and holds a world-best 12 titles all-time. The U.S. closed the event with a record of 5-0-0-0 (W-L-OTL-L), going undefeated at the Para Hockey Cup for the seventh-consecutive time.
“I thought we finished with our best effort,” said David Hoff (Bottineau, N.D.). “I liked how we played defensively, Jen stepped up for us, and I thought it was a good all-around effort and a great way to finish this tournament.”
Bolton opened the scoring for the U.S. 8:05 into the contest when he deflected a pass from Noah Grove (Frederick, Md.) past Canadian netminder Corbin Watson from the top of the crease.
The second period was scoreless for each side, and the U.S. killed off a pair of penalties in the closing minutes of the frame to maintain the one-goal lead.
The game remained 1-0 for a majority of the third until Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) tallied an empty-net goal with 50 seconds remaining to account for the 2-0 final.
Lee stopped all 10 shots he faced to earn the win in goal for Team USA.
NOTES: Noah Grove was named U.S. Player of the Game … Team USA outshot Canada 18-10 … The U.S. was 0-2 on the power play, while Canada was 0-3.
