Neal Shipley of Bay Golf Club achieves inaugural TGL hole-in-one.

Neal Shipley achieved a notable milestone in golf on Monday night.
The 25-year-old accomplished the inaugural hole-in-one in TGL, the technology-driven golf league currently in its second season.
Shipley approached the No. 5 “Set In Stone” hole, which at 110 yards was the shortest par-3 in TGL’s history. He struck a wedge that soared onto a green extending from the mountainside, then observed his ball spin back to the right and into the hole.
His reaction at the SoFi Center was remarkable. He tossed his club high into the air, jumped several times, and was soon surrounded by teammates Luke Clanton and Min Woo Lee as the audience erupted in cheers.
“This is unlike any hole-in-one I’ve experienced before,” Shipley remarked to ESPN. “This is incredible. So cool.”
Making his TGL debut in the match against Los Angeles Golf Club, Shipley noted that Clanton predicted the hole-in-one before he took his shot. The on-course hot mic later captured Clanton saying, “Hey, it’s you. Give me a hole-in-one here. Please.”
Shipley, a former star at Ohio State who made the cut as an amateur in both the 2024 Masters and U.S. Open, is in his first season on the PGA Tour. He has made one cut in four tournaments.
