Alex Fitzpatrick comes back from a 6-shot deficit to secure victory at the Indian Open.

NEW DELHI — Alex Fitzpatrick erased a six-shot deficit with an impressive series of birdies on Sunday, defeating Eugenio Chacarra with a score of 3-under 69 to claim victory at the Indian Open, thereby joining his older brother as a winner on the European tour.
Matt Fitzpatrick, the 2022 U.S. Open champion and a nine-time winner on the European tour, secured the Valspar Championship last week in Florida. This marks the first instance of brothers winning in consecutive weeks on both the PGA Tour and European tour.
“It’s fantastic to join my brother Matt as a champion,” Fitzpatrick remarked. “It can be challenging at times to be in the shadow of someone’s achievements, but fortunately, it’s my brother, so it’s not too bad. It’s incredibly rewarding to be alongside him in the winners’ circle, and I hope to keep progressing. I look up to him, so I’m just trying to emulate him in every aspect. Hopefully, we can both continue to succeed.”
Fitzpatrick encountered a couple of early bogeys that left him six strokes behind Chacarra after five holes in the final round at DLF Golf and Country Club. After ten holes and seven birdies, Fitzpatrick found himself one shot ahead as the Spaniard struggled significantly.
“I still don’t know how many birdies I made,” he stated. “I was just focused on staying in the game.”
Chacarra recorded three consecutive bogeys late in the round, dropping four shots behind after beginning the day with a four-shot advantage, and finished with a score of 75. Fitzpatrick made a double bogey on the 18th hole but still secured the win by two shots, finishing at 9-under 275.
