Kane scores twice as England cruise to 3-0 Nations League win over Czech Republic
Harry Kane scored twice on his 125th appearance for England, helping the team secure a comfortable 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic in the Nations League at Wembley on Tuesday.
Below are the player ratings for the match.
Jordan Pickford: Will return to Everton knowing his place is now under threat from James Trafford. Some shaky moments. 6
Trent Alexander-Arnold: Given another opportunity to impress and took it. Ability on the ball perfect for deep-lying opponents like the Czech Republic. 7
Jarell Quansah: Deployed in his favoured centre-back role and looked comfortable. Slowly becoming a fixture in the squad. 6
Marc Guehi: But for a couple of lapses, cruised through the game. Started all four of England’s matches during the extended international break. 6
Lewis Hall: Now in a fight with Nico O’Reilly to be England’s first-choice left-back. A successful international period for the Newcastle defender. 7
Elliot Anderson: Goes from strength to strength at international level. Brilliant pass to unlock the Czech Republic for England’s second. 6
Myles Lewis-Skelly: Can be happy with his output on his return to the international scene. Will be unlucky not to be in next squad on this evidence. 7
Eberechi Eze: Improved after an underwhelming first-half but did not do enough to cause Thomas Tuchel a selection headache after being handed a rare start. 6
Jude Bellingham: Did not hit the heights of his captivating display in Croatia but still oozed class whenever in possession. 7
Morgan Rogers: Showed his versatility by starting out on the right and looked comfortable in the role. Provided a real threat. 7
Harry Kane: Historic night for the England captain becoming the country’s joint-highest appearance-maker alongside Peter Shilton with 125 caps. Goes without saying he scored… twice. 8
Subs:
James Garner (on 63, Anderson): More international minutes in his legs. 6
Jarrad Branthwaite (on 63, Guehi): On for his third cap. 6
Morgan Gibbs-White (on 73, Hall). 6
Rio Ngumoha (on 73, Bellingham). 6
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (on 82, Kane). 6
Subs not used: James Trafford, Jason Steele, Bukayo Saka, Anthony Gordon, Trevoh Chalobah, Rico Lewis.
