Russell Westbrook has certainly earned the title Mr. Triple Double.

In basketball terminology, a triple-double occurs when a player achieves double-digit figures in three out of five statistical categories (assists, blocks, points, rebounds, and steals) during a game. No player in the history of the NBA has reached this milestone more frequently than Westbrook.

On May 10, 2021, Westbrook became the all-time leader in triple-doubles in the NBA, recording 28 points, 13 rebounds, and 21 assists for the Washington Wizards in a 125-124 defeat to the Atlanta Hawks. This achievement marked the 182nd triple-double of Westbrook’s career, surpassing Oscar Robertson for the highest total in history.

Nikola Jokić has also since surpassed Robertson, whose record stood for over 47 years.

Westbrook had previously set a new record for the most triple-doubles in a single NBA season (41), achieving 42 during the 2016-17 season.
