The United States won their fifth consecutive Women’s Basketball World Cup with a 97-79 victory over France in Berlin.
Breanna Stewart scored 22 points and recorded 10 rebounds as the USA replicated their World Cup win from four years ago in Australia.
Jackie Young added 18 points, six rebounds and five assists to help the world champions claim a 12th gold medal at an event they have dominated.
France were making their first final appearance and held a 20-17 lead after the first quarter, and only lost the second quarter by a point.
The United States, who last failed to win the tournament in 2006, came on strong with a 30-12 third quarter to take control.
Dominique Malonga top scored for France with 21 points.
Spain, the USA’s semi-final opponent, won the third-place game 81-58 against Germany.
