Stephen Curry set to participate in 2027 three-point competition

INGLEWOOD, Ca — Stephen Curry has announced his return to the 3-point competition next year in Phoenix during an NBC broadcast on Sunday afternoon.
Possibly inspired by witnessing fellow veteran Damian Lillard claim victory in the contest in Los Angeles, Curry made his announcement during the All-Star game, where he is sidelined due to a knee injury. He mentioned that he would attempt to persuade former teammate Klay Thompson to participate alongside him in the event.
Curry last won the contest in 2021 in Atlanta, marking his most recent participation, and previously won in 2015 in New York. Thompson secured the title in 2016 in Toronto.
Lillard became the third player to achieve three 3-point contest victories on Saturday, a milestone that Curry could also reach with another win.
Curry holds the record for the most 3-pointers made in history and has led the league in 3-pointers made on eight occasions throughout his career. This season, he is shooting 39.1 percent from beyond the arc.
