Pistons’ J.B. Bickerstaff appointed as coach for the All-Star Game

Detroit Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff has been selected as a coach for the 2026 NBA All-Star game, as announced by the league on Sunday evening.
This announcement follows the Pistons securing the top record in the Eastern Conference as of February 1, after the Boston Celtics were defeated by the Chicago Bulls.
This marks Bickerstaff’s inaugural role as an All-Star coach, occurring in just his second year with the franchise. He placed second in the Coach of the Year voting last season after leading Detroit to a playoff berth following a 14-win campaign.
The Pistons have emerged as one of the most formidable teams in the league this season, holding a 32-11 record, which is second only to Oklahoma City.
This year’s All-Star format includes three teams, with two comprised of American players and the third featuring international players. The teams will engage in four 12-minute games, with the top two teams progressing to a final championship match.
Bickerstaff is set to coach one of these teams, as stated by the league.
