Nuggets finalize Spencer Jones’ agreement into a standard contract.

The Denver Nuggets are promoting two-way player Spencer Jones to a standard NBA contract for the remainder of the season, sources informed ESPN on Wednesday.
Jones, 24, is set to become a restricted free agent in June.
<pThroughout his second season, Jones has started 34 of 46 games for the Nuggets, averaging 6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 23.6 minutes, and shooting 41.4% from beyond the arc. He has played an essential role in the rotation for a Nuggets team facing injuries in the frontcourt this season. Additionally, Jones is converting 41% of his catch-and-shoot 3-pointers and limiting opponents to 45% shooting when he is the closest defender, according to ESPN Research.
If Jones starts seven more games, he will be the first player to qualify for the starter criteria qualifying offer through a direct two-way-to-standard contract conversion.
