Nuggets and Pacers set to compete in Mexico City next season 1

MEXICO CITY — The NBA announced on Thursday that Denver and Indiana will compete in Mexico City for a regular-season game on Nov. 7.

This matchup will mark the 35th game held in Mexico since 1992, and it will be the 16th regular-season game in the country. Apart from the U.S. and Canada, Mexico has hosted more NBA games than any other nation.

“The hosting of the 35th game in the country demonstrates the strength of the NBA’s connection with Mexico and the significance of this event in bringing the global game closer to fans locally, throughout Latin America, and worldwide,” stated Raul Zarraga, senior vice president of NBA Latin America.

Denver has previously participated in Mexico once, playing a preseason game against Golden State in Monterrey in 2006. The Pacers will be making their inaugural trip to Mexico, becoming the 23rd NBA franchise to play a game in the nation.

The game is scheduled to take place during the week of the Day of the Dead festivities in Mexico.

Additionally, the NBA will host regular-season games in Paris and Manchester, England, in the upcoming season.
