Luka Doncic and Cade Cunningham qualify for NBA season honors 1

Lakers star Luka Doncic and Pistons standout Cade Cunningham are now eligible for all awards for the 2025-26 season, including MVP and All-NBA teams, following the approval of their extraordinary circumstances challenge regarding the 65-game rule by the NBA and NBPA on Thursday.

Doncic concluded the regular season with 64 games played, having missed two games in December due to the birth of his child overseas.

Cunningham participated in 63 games but was sidelined for 12 games because of a collapsed lung.

Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards, who took part in 60 games, also submitted a challenge, which was forwarded to an independent arbitrator; however, his appeal was rejected, and he will not be eligible for awards.
