Heat mock Bucks following Milwaukee's mention of Bam Adebayo's 83-point performance 1

The positive takeaway for the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday? They managed to limit Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo to fewer than 83 points. The downside? Miami triumphed over the visiting Milwaukee team with a score of 112-105 and made sure to respond afterward.

After an 83-point outing on Tuesday, which ranks as the second highest in NBA history, Adebayo recorded 21 points on 8-of-20 shooting. The Heat secured their victory against the Bucks following a strong first quarter and with 28 points contributed by Pelle Larsson.

Milwaukee’s third consecutive defeat was accompanied by a postgame score graphic that included a caption referencing Adebayo’s record-setting game, stating: “Bam did not score 83 points.” Miami chose to respond humorously to the post, indicating that Adebayo didn’t need to reach that total to secure the win.

The Heat’s win ensured they claimed the season series against the Bucks 2-1. As of Thursday night, Milwaukee is six games behind the final play-in position, making it improbable for the Bucks to respond to the jab if they were to meet in the playoffs.

Adebayo’s 21 points represented the lowest total for any player following a 75-point game, according to ESPN Research. Nevertheless, it extended his streak of 20-point games to eight, which ties for the second longest in his career.

Prior to Miami’s game against Milwaukee, head coach Erik Spoelstra defended his choice to keep Adebayo in the game to pursue 83 points, despite the outcome being secure.

“I apologize to absolutely no one,” Spoelstra stated. “Period.”

The Heat’s social media team appears to be adopting a similar approach.
