Hawks’ recently acquired forward Jonathan Kuminga sidelined until after All-Star break

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks’ recently acquired forward Jonathan Kuminga is expected to be sidelined for a minimum of one week as he recuperates from a bone bruise in his left knee.
The Hawks disclosed prior to Saturday night’s home matchup against the Charlotte Hornets that Kuminga incurred the injury while competing for Golden State against Dallas on January 22.
Kuminga, along with guard Buddy Hield, was obtained in the trade that involved sending center Kristaps Porzingis to the Warriors on Wednesday evening.
The Hawks indicated that Kuminga will undergo an evaluation after the All-Star break.
Atlanta forward-center Onyeka Okongwu is set to play against Charlotte after being absent for four games due to a dental fracture. Okongwu donned a protective mask during pregame warmups.
