Chris Paul of the Clippers joins the Raptors in a three-team trade.

The LA Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, and Toronto Raptors have reached a multi-team trade agreement that will send Chris Paul to the Raptors, while Ochai Agbaji, a second-round pick for the Raptors in 2032, along with cash, will go to the Nets, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The Raptors will not require Chris Paul to join the team immediately and may still consider trading him before the NBA trade deadline on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET.
Toronto has now exited the luxury tax, Brooklyn acquires an asset and cash to offset Agbaji’s salary, and the Clippers create a roster vacancy while saving $7 million in tax expenses.
Paul and the Clippers decided to part ways unexpectedly in early December. A prominent figure in the franchise’s history, Paul shared an Instagram story shortly before 3 a.m. ET on December 3 acknowledging the transition.
Sources informed ESPN that Paul had reportedly not communicated with Clippers coach Ty Lue for several weeks leading up to his departure from the team.
Paul later expressed to People.com that he felt “at peace” with the split and was eager about the future.
The 12-time NBA All-Star intends to retire at the conclusion of the season.
