Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the Miami Open due to health issues.

The 23-year-old British No.1 had advanced directly to the second round of the tournament, which is set to commence on Tuesday.

Raducanu is still in the process of recovering from post-viral symptoms she acquired in the Middle East last month.

The 2021 US Open champion participated in Indian Wells earlier this month, where she faced a 6-1, 6-1 defeat in the third round against Amanda Anisimova.

Following that 52-minute match, Raducanu acknowledged that she was unable to generate the necessary power to compete with the two-time Grand Slam finalist.

She consistently refrained from pursuing drop shots and found it challenging to apply pressure on her opponent with her return of serve.

Raducanu ended her association with her most recent coach Francisco Roig in January and has been collaborating on a temporary basis with Mark Petchey in an effort to regain her peak performance.

Seeded 24th, she had the potential to meet fellow Brit Sonay Kartal, who is set to face American Peyton Stearns, in the round of 64 in Miami.
