MUNICH — Ben Shelton rebounded from last year’s setback by overcoming Flavio Cobolli 6-2, 7-5 to claim the Munich Open on Sunday.

Shelton was defeated in the final by Alexander Zverev in 2025 and was resolute in preventing a repeat at the ATP 500 event.

The 23-year-old from Atlanta recorded four aces and successfully defended against all six break points he encountered, while converting three of his own to secure victory over the 16th-ranked Cobolli in 1Β½ hours.

This marks the sixth-ranked American’s fifth career title and his second on clay.
