Release date for Forza Horizon 6 revealed 1

Microsoft has revealed that the newest installment in its arcade racing franchise, Forza Horizon 6, is set to launch on May 19 for Xbox and PC, with a PlayStation 5 version expected to follow later in the year.

As previously disclosed, Forza Horizon 6 will take place in Japan, featuring an open-world setting that encompasses both urban and rural areas. Developer Playground Games stated that the intention was not to replicate Japan’s roads and environments precisely, but rather to “capture the essence of the place in a smoother, condensed reality.”

At launch, the game will include around 550 vehicles, emphasizing cars that are popular in Japan, such as kei cars and vans. Microsoft also unveiled the cover vehicles for the game, which include the 2025 GR GT Prototype from Toyota and the 2025 Toyota Landcruiser.

Similar to previous entries in the series, Forza Horizon 6 will have players engaging in the Horizon Festival, where they will advance through a variety of challenges ranging from simple races to stunt jumps and off-road rallies. The game will also offer comprehensive multiplayer features, including online competitive races and leaderboards, as well as cooperative gameplay experiences.

This new title follows Forza Horizon 5, which was first launched in 2021 for Xbox and PC before being adapted for PS5 last year. That installment allowed players to race through a condensed version of Mexico and received positive feedback upon both its initial launch and its PS5 adaptation.
