U.S. Secures Fifth Consecutive Paralympic Gold with 6-2 Victory Over Canada
MILAN – The U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team, driven by a four-point performance (3g, 1a) from Jack Wallace (Franklin Lakes, N.J.), secured its fifth consecutive gold medal at the Paralympic Winter Games with a 6-2 triumph over Canada in the championship match at Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena.
Team USA achieved its sixth gold medal overall at the Paralympics (2002, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022, 2026) and concluded the 2026 Games with an impeccable record of 5-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L). The U.S. finished its impressive campaign by outscoring opponents 46-6.
“I was very pleased with our level of competition tonight; this team showed remarkable determination,” stated David Hoff (Bottineau, N.D.), head coach of the 2026 U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team. “That was the key factor. We established a strong pace tonight and maintained it throughout all three periods to achieve our primary objective.”
Wallace initiated the scoring at 8:39 of the first period during a power play, firing a shot from the left faceoff circle that eluded Canadian goaltender Corbin Watson.
