2026 ESPY Award Nominees Announced by USA Hockey
ESPN has revealed the nominees for the 2026 ESPY Awards, showcasing USA Hockey with eight players and teams nominated for various honors. The 2026 U.S. Olympic Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Teams, both of which secured gold medals at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, are prominent among the nominees, contending for Best Team.
Hilary Knight, the captain of Team USA and the most decorated U.S. hockey Olympian, has been nominated for Best Athlete, Women’s Sports, while Declan Farmer has been acknowledged in the Best Athlete with a Disability category.
Megan Keller and Jack Hughes have both been nominated in the Best Play category for their decisive goals in the gold medal matches in Milan. Additionally, Aerin Frankel and Connor Hellebuyck received nominations in the Best Championship Performance category, as both were crucial to the U.S. success in goal during the Olympics, effectively securing victories in their respective gold medal contests.
