Stewart Cink shoots 63 to secure victory at Senior PGA Championship by 6 strokes.

BRADENTON, Fla. — Stewart Cink distanced himself from the competition with an impressive performance around the turn on Sunday, finishing with a 9-under 63 to secure a six-shot victory in the Senior PGA Championship, marking his first senior major title and third win of the year on the PGA Tour Champions.
Cink entered the final round at Concession Golf Club one shot behind the leader, but he quickly eliminated any suspense with a remarkable stretch of play.
The surge began with an eagle on the par-5 seventh hole. He concluded the front nine with consecutive birdies, taking command of the tournament, and then he added to his momentum with a 35-foot birdie putt on the par-3 11th that rolled perfectly to the hole.
During that five-hole stretch, he was 5-under par, leaving the rest of the field competing for second place. Cink also made an up-and-down birdie on the par-5 13th and sank an 18-foot birdie on the 14th hole.
Ben Crane finished with a 68, placing second in his debut at the Senior PGA Championship.
Keith Horne from South Africa, who started the final round with a one-shot advantage, struggled to keep pace with Cink and fell back after a double bogey on the par-4 12th hole.
Cink, who triumphed in the 2009 British Open in a playoff against Tom Watson at Turnberry, has not recorded a round over par in his 16 rounds on the PGA Tour Champions. In addition to his three victories this season, he has a second-place finish, with his lowest result being a tie for sixth.
He concluded the tournament at 19-under 269, just one shot shy of the record to par of 20 under set by Sam Snead in the 1973 Senior PGA Championship at PGA National.
Scott Hend and Steve Allan, both from Australia, each finished with a 71, tying for third place.
