Prosecutors pursuing Tiger Woods’ medication prescription history

ORLANDO, Fla. — Authorities are requesting Tiger Woods’ prescription medication records from a pharmacy, following his vehicle accident in Florida and subsequent arrest on suspicion of DUI.
On Tuesday, prosecutors in Martin County, Florida, announced their intention to issue a subpoena for all prescription medication records associated with the 15-time major champion at Lewis Pharmacy in Palm Beach, Florida.
The prosecutors are seeking details regarding the dates prescriptions were filled, the quantity of pills, the dosage levels, and any accompanying instructions, including warnings related to driving while using the medications, as indicated in documents from an online court docket.
Neither Lewis Pharmacy nor Woods’ attorney, Doug Duncan, responded immediately to requests for comments via email.
Woods entered a not guilty plea in his DUI case in Florida last week, shortly after a sheriff’s report indicated that deputies discovered two pain pills in his pocket and observed signs of impairment after his SUV collided with a trailer and overturned.
Woods stated last week that he is taking time off to pursue treatment.
This marks the second occasion Woods has taken a leave following a vehicular incident. In 2009, after his SUV crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree near his home in Orlando, he took a leave of absence to focus on self-improvement. This leave lasted four months before he returned at the Masters.
He was also involved in a 2021 car accident in Los Angeles that severely injured his right leg, leading doctors to consider amputation.
