Green receives three-month suspension from European tour due to anti-doping violation.

VIRGINIA WATER, England — Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been handed a three-month suspension following a positive test for a prohibited substance, the European tour announced on Tuesday.
Green violated the anti-doping regulations by consuming a herbal supplement that is available in Asia as a therapeutic remedy for an undisclosed health issue, according to the tour.
Ranked No. 554, Green will be eligible to resume competition on March 5; his suspension is retroactive to December 5.
The tour indicated that Green underwent the doping control test in August during the Danish Golf Championship, where he finished tied for 40th place. He has been disqualified from that event retroactively.
“”Green has fully cooperated with the tour throughout the investigation and has accepted the suspension,” the European tour stated.
At 32 years old, Green turned professional in 2015 and has not yet secured a victory on the European tour. His most recent participation was at the Genesis Championship in South Korea in October.
