Vitor Pereira named head coach of Nottingham Forest 1

Nottingham Forest has appointed Vitor Pereira as their new head coach after the dismissal of Sean Dyche.

A statement from the club announced: “Nottingham Forest is pleased to confirm that Vitor Pereira has been appointed as head coach on an 18-month contract.”

“He will be supported by coaching staff Filipe Jorge Monteiro Almeida (assistant coach), Luis Miguel Moreira Da Silva (assistant coach), Bruno Filipe Araujo De Moura (head of physical performance and opposition analysis), and Pedro Simao Capela Silva Lopes (opposition analyst).”

Sources had earlier informed ESPN that the Portuguese coach was the top choice for Forest.

Pereira, 57, was most recently in the Premier League with Wolves, where he was relieved of his duties in November.

He managed to keep his former club in the top division last season and now takes over a Forest team currently in 17th place, just three points above the relegation zone.

Pereira is the fourth manager for Forest this season, following Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, and Dyche.
