Santi Cazorla: ‘LaLiga is significantly behind the Premier League’

Real Oviedo’s captain Santi Cazorla has criticized LaLiga following the postponement of his team’s league match against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday afternoon, which was announced just hours before the match was set to begin.
The postponement was attributed to safety issues concerning the pitch at Vallecas Stadium.
Oviedo expressed dissatisfaction with the late notice, as both the team and its supporters were already in Madrid.
The club indicated in a statement that it would contemplate pursuing legal action.

Former Arsenal midfielder Cazorla voiced his frustration on X: “The reality is that LaLiga is light years away from the Premier League in every sense.”
Cazorla, 41, spent six years at Arsenal, where he secured two FA Cups with the North London side.
He returned to his childhood club Oviedo in August 2023 and played a key role in their promotion to LaLiga last season.
Currently, Oviedo sits at the bottom of the league table, having recorded three wins, seven draws, and 12 losses in 22 league matches.
