Mexico set to face Ghana, Australia, and Serbia in World Cup preparation matches.

The men’s national team of Mexico will conclude its preparations for the World Cup with friendly matches against Ghana, Australia, and Serbia, as announced by officials on Tuesday.
Mexico is set to compete against Ghana on May 22 at home, followed by a match against Australia on May 30 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The team will then return to Mexico to face Serbia on June 4. The locations for the two matches in Mexico are yet to be disclosed.
Mexico will kick off its World Cup journey on June 11 against South Africa in the tournament’s inaugural match at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
“These are the perfect opponents to assist in preparing the national team for the World Cup,” stated Ivar Sisniega, president of the Mexican Football Federation.
Prior to these matches, Mexico will host Iceland on February 25 in Querétaro and Portugal in Mexico City on March 28, followed by a game against Belgium on March 31 in Chicago.
The encounter with Portugal will signify the reopening of Azteca Stadium, which has been closed since May 2024.
“We have been assured that the stadium will be ready, that the pitch will be in excellent condition, and that the stands and facilities for the match will be prepared,” Sisniega remarked. “There is no Plan B; we will proceed with the match on March 28 as planned, and no alternative scenarios are being considered.”
