Max Dowman has a preliminary agreement to sign his first professional contract with Arsenal in December, coinciding with his 17th birthday.

Dowman has rapidly ascended through the youth system of the north London club, becoming the youngest scorer in the UEFA Youth League at the age of 14 and subsequently Arsenal’s youngest starter at 15.

Currently sidelined due to an injury, Dowman was an important contributor to Mikel Arteta’s first team earlier this season. His scholarship agreement indicates his commitment to Arsenal’s future.

“This means everything to me and my family,” Dowman stated.

“We all support Arsenal, and I truly feel a sense of belonging here. I want to express my gratitude to all my coaches, teammates, and, most importantly, my family and friends, who have helped me reach this point.

“Having been at the club my entire life, this holds significant meaning for me. There is a clear pathway here, with players emerging from our academy, such as Bukayo [Saka], Myles [Lewis-Skelly], and Ethan [Nwaneri], who serve as great sources of inspiration for me.

“It’s incredible to have role models nearby who have gone through similar experiences. I am now very eager to continue working hard on my development.”
