Jérémy Doku expressed “you know my feelings” when asked about the knee-high tackle from Diogo Dalot during Manchester United’s derby win at Old Trafford.

Dalot was fortunate to escape a red card for the challenge on Doku, which occurred early in the first half while the score was still 0-0.

United ultimately secured a 2-0 victory in Michael Carrick’s inaugural match as manager.

Doku managed to continue playing at Old Trafford, but he was sidelined for the subsequent match against Bodo/Glimt due to discomfort from the tackle.

The winger indicated he wishes to move past the incident, yet implied he remains dissatisfied with Dalot.

“I saw the footage as well,” Doku stated. “I carried on playing, but afterwards it was painful, and I believe you all understand my feelings about it.

“I received a blow to my knee, which kept me from playing in Norway, and that was the reason.

“I could have [sustained a serious injury]. I didn’t participate in the match in Norway, and I prefer not to dwell on it. It is behind me now. I wasn’t seriously injured.”

Doku was addressing the media prior to City’s final Champions League group stage match against Galatasaray at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola’s squad must secure a victory and rely on favorable outcomes in other matches to finish in the top eight and avoid a two-legged playoff in February to advance to the last-16.

“It’s crucial to be in the top eight,” Doku remarked. “We don’t want to play two matches, and given the number of games we have now, having two fewer games is beneficial for us.

“We simply aim to win this match and see where it leads us.”
