MUNICH — Harry Kane participated in training after recovering from a calf injury and is set to travel with the Bayern Munich team to Italy on Monday in preparation for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Atalanta.

Kane was absent during Friday’s 4-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga due to what coach Vincent Kompany referred to as a “knock on his calf.” Nicolas Jackson took his place and scored as Bayern maintained its pursuit of the German title.

The England captain’s mobility appeared unaffected on Monday as he stepped onto the training field and engaged in various ball exercises with his teammates.

Bayern travels to Italy with the goal of extending a streak of reaching at least the Champions League quarterfinals for six consecutive seasons.

Atalanta achieved an impressive comeback at home in Bergamo during the previous round, eliminating another German side by defeating Borussia Dortmund 4-3 on aggregate, but they have not secured a win in three Italian league and cup matches since then.

Bayern holds an 11-point lead over Dortmund in the standings with nine matches remaining in the Bundesliga season.
