Everton forward Jack Grealish has announced that his season has concluded following surgery for a foot injury he incurred in January.

Grealish has made a significant impact on Merseyside since arriving on a season-long loan from Manchester City during the summer, but his time at Hill Dickinson will now finish on an unfortunate note.

The 30-year-old has tallied two goals and six assists in the Premier League to date, establishing himself as a key player for David Moyes’ team, though his manager had expressed worries regarding the severity of the injury, which have now been validated.

“I didn’t want the season to conclude like this, but that’s football; I’m devastated,” he stated on social media.

“Surgery is complete, and now my entire focus is on returning to fitness. I am confident that I will come back fitter, stronger, and better than before.

“The support I have received since joining this remarkable club has meant everything to me. The staff, my teammates, and especially the fans have been amazing, and I truly enjoy representing this club.

“I will be cheering for the lads all the way and doing everything possible to return as quickly as I can. Thank you once more for all the support; it means a great deal.”

Grealish’s surgery also eliminates any slim possibility of his inclusion in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada this summer.
